Intramural Sports Teams
Old Orchard is proud to be a founding member of the Silicon Valley Sports League, a league for smaller and medium-sized private schools. Teams are open to students in Grades 4-8. At Old Orchard every student who wishes to play is allowed to play; the only requirement is good sportsmanship and team spirit. In the fall, girls play volleyball and boys play flag football; in the winter, boys and girls play basketball. Depending on age and grade, students are sorted into A and C level teams. In the spring, Old Orchard offers track team as an after-school club and hosts several informal meets with other schools.

Robotics Club & Team
The Old Orchard Robotics Club is open to all students in Grades 3-8. Club members participate in the annual First Lego League robotics competition each Fall. Typically, we field two teams sorted by age and experience.
For the balance of the year, the club meets on at least a monthly basis to have fun devising and solving their own robotics and engineering challenges. The club is reliant on parent volunteers for coaching and other support. If you are interested in getting involved, send Tech Ed teacher and Robotics Club coordinator Sheila Malone an email and let her know.

Spelling Bee, Chess Club, Scrabble Club & More
From year to year, students express interest in different activities. Old Orchard has hosted chess clubs, scrabble clubs, dessert clubs, Spelling Bees and more. We are always happy to create new clubs and activities, when there is sufficient interest from students and parents. If you or your student has a great idea, please be sure to share it with us. Clubs typically require parent volunteers, so please be ready to help us find support for your child's interest. We aren't large enough to offer everything or staff everything at once. But we are always willing to provide coordination and space.
