There's still time to drop off donations! The US Student Council school-wide food drive benefiting the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) has been extended through Monday December 18. Donations may be dropped off at either school office.
The US Student Council selected REFB because it is the largest food bank serving the areas hardest hit during the recent wildfires. Before the fires, the agency reached more than 80,000 people each year. Now it is working double-time to continue to meet that need, restock its warehouses depleted during the fires, and to meet the ongoing needs of people impacted by the fires.
Most needed are ready-to-eat, non-perishable foods such as: canned tuna and meat, soups, stews, chilis, beans, fruits and vegetables; dry cereals, rice, and beans; high-protein granola bars; nuts and trail mix; Ensure for adults or toddlers; and pureed vegetables for toddlers. Please: No expired foods, open packages, or glass containers.
