Junior Kindergarten
Junior Kindergarten is an exciting year as students explore, become more independent, and grow in all areas. Students strengthen their social-emotional skills as they learn how to become a student by understanding classroom routines and expectations of school. They explore early literacy skills, experience hands-on science activities, make connections in math, and foster social emotional development. Junior Kindergarten is magical!
Old Orchard offers two programs for Jr. Kindergarten:
Half-Day Program: M-F, 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Half-day students participate in the core academic portion of the day (Language Arts, Math and Science) as well as Music. Half-day students are picked up as full-day students transition to lunch.
Full-Day Programs: M-F, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
Full-day students have Spanish every day in the afternoon (see below for detailed information). The remainder of their day includes a quiet period followed by a varied program of structured and unstructured activities that may involve art, music, P.E., creative play, and outside fun and games.
