Evaluate & Assess

 All Old Orchard applicants are evaluated in person. The process varies according to age and grade levels.

 

Jr. Kindergarten & Kindergarten Small Group Meet & Greet

Applicants are evaluated in small groups and assessed for social and school readiness with a series of exercises that measure a variety of developmental skills. Small group visits are a fun experience and should simply feel like an exciting adventure to a new classroom.

Jr Kindergarten and Kindergarten Meet & Greets are scheduled in late Feb to early March. Jr Kindergarten visits are ~45 minutes while Kindergarten visits are 2 hours. 

 

Grades 1-8 Visit Days

Applicants visit Old Orchard for 2 consecutive, full days with the grade they wish to join. Visit Days offer prospective students a wonderful opportunity to experience the classrooms, students, and teachers. Visitors are paired with buddies who will serve as their host while on campus. During their visit, they will complete a variety of assessments from math to writing to reading comprehension and critical thinking.

Visit Days for Grade 1-8 applicants are scheduled January through early March each year. 

 

PLEASE NOTE: 

• The application, $100 application fee, and all required supporting materials must be submitted before a visit will be scheduled. 
•  Visit for mid-year transfer candidates and those applying  following the first round will be scheduled as early as possible after all required supporting materials have been submitted.
