Parents in K1-GR8 are invited to join us for a parent screening of Screenagers, a highly-regarded documentary that explores the impact that increasing hours spent looking at screens can have on young people and family life. The film was made by a physician inspired by her own struggles to help her own children manage their digital lives, and draws on personal stories, humor, and insights from brain scientists and other experts in the field to illustrate how tech time impacts children's development, and suggests ways adults can help them navigate the digital world and find balance. You may read more about – and see a trailer — for Screenagers here. The site also includes lots of useful resources for parents.
The film is relevant for all parents, whether you are in K1 and wondering about video games or in GR8 and negotiating over smartphones.
Here are the details:
- Students in GRs 5-8 will see Screenagers during the school day on May, 29.
