Thank you to the many OOSL Book Fair shoppers who included an extra book or two for donation to children living at the San Jose Family Shelter.
Organized by our Project Cornerstone volunteers, this drive tapped into "Giving Tuesday" by inviting students to pick a book they thought a child their age might enjoy, and add it to their own wishlist. Numerous parents stepped up, and we will be sending 32 new books to the shelter for its children to "shop" from on December 16.
If you would like to add a book to the stack, our lovely Cornerstone Readers will be collecting them through Thursday, December 12. Just leave your donation in either school office.
The San Jose Family Shelter is the only shelter exclusively for 1- and 2-parent families in Santa Clara County. If can accommodate up to 35 families at a time, providing each with a private room and bath for up to 90 days, along with additional services.
