Take It Personally
Project Cornerstone staff teams up with Old Orchard School to offer this annual parent workshop.
Through years of research, the Search Institute of Minneapolis identified 40 developmental assets-or essential building blocks-needed by young people to grow into healthy, caring and responsible adults. These assets have a powerful, positive effect on our children: succeeding in school, helping others, valuing diversity, exhibiting leadership, resisting danger, delaying gratification, and overcoming adversity. Old Orchard School, in partnership with Project Cornerstone, offers an annual Take It Personally class for parents. If you would like to learn more about incorporating the assets in your life, you will want to take this six session study group. Participants will learn about the 41 developmental assets, and develop skills that will help you be more effective in building assets.
