To understand a school’s programs, values and culture, you need to spend time on campus. We encourage all families to attend an Open House and to schedule a school-day tour to see our classrooms, teachers and students in action. Our upcoming Open House dates are: November 4 and January 20, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Register to attend Open House here.
You may reserve a private, school-day tour online or contact our Admission office directly via phone, at (408) 378-5935, or via email, at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Please understand that we cannot evaluate any candidates until we have a complete application, including the application form, application fee, and all supporting materials.
Jr. Kindergarten candidates should be 4-years-old by September 1; Kindergarten candidates should be 5-years-old by September 1.
Applicants for Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten are encouraged to apply early.
Evaluate & Assess
Evaluation and assessment of applicants vary by grade. The majority of candidates are asked to shadow at Old Orchard, which means they spend a minimum of two consecutive school days with the class they wish to join.
Evaluation details by grade:
Jr. Kindergarten (K1): Applicants come for a short visit to the K1 classroom where they are evaluated and assessed for social and school readiness by the Jr. Kindergarten teacher. Classroom visits are a fun experience and should simply feel like an exciting visit to a new classroom complete with story time, one on one time with the teacher, and time on the playground.
Kindergarten (K2): Applicants are evaluated in small groups and assessed for social and school readiness with a series of exercises that measure a variety of developmental skills. To the students, it simply feels like an afternoon at school, complete with a story and time on the playground. Candidates who apply after the group evaluations have taken place will be evaluated individually.
Grades 1-8: Applicants shadow at Old Orchard for two consecutive days with the grade they wish to join. During their visit, they attend classes and will be given a separate math and writing assessment. Shadow Days are scheduled in January through early March. If your student wishes to join Old Orchard during the current school year, the evaluation or shadow date will be scheduled as early as possible after a completed application has been submitted.
NOTE: Completed application packages (online application form, required documentation and $100 application fee) must be submitted before an evaluation or shadow day will be scheduled.
Admission decisions will be sent on March 14.
